DISTRIBUTION

Today's world of how we see film distribution is changing.  The world of minimum guarantees, massive DVD sales, and large licensing payments are shifting and almost no longer available today.  Streaming is quickly becoming KING! Understanding and negotiating the numerous streaming platforms can be daunting for first-time and independent filmmakers.  

Manns Mackie Distribution is a subsidiary of Manns Mackie Studios and provides independent film producers a means to get their hard work distributed primarily on Streaming, Network, Cable, and limited theatrical release opportunities. We also provide limited distribution reach into domestic, and international platforms. We work directly with streaming & third-party distribution partners. We provide independent film producers a means to get their hard work distributed primarily on Streaming, Network, Cable, and DVD platforms.

DISTRIBUTION MODEL

Our model is different. We do not ask for three, five, or ten-year ownership of your content up-front.  Our model is broken down into three distinct phases designed to (I) allow the Licensee as much ownership as possible, (II) introduce Licensee content to a wide array of potential buyers/platforms, and (III) provide as much profit to the Licensee as possible.  

PROCESS & TIMELINE

Step 1. REVIEW & CONSIDERATION. MMD receives your Title(s) for review and consideration.

Step 2. MMD EVALUATION. The MMD distribution team reviews and evaluates your Titles for distribution.  The two key areas we evaluate Titles against are (I)  content and genres requested by our Platform partners, and (II)  production quality and sound based on our Platform partners' specific requirements and specifications.

Step 3. MMD CONSIDERATION AGREEMENT.  If your Title(s) move forward, we will provide our Consideration Agreement (CA) for your review and signature.  The CA allows two things (I) The CA provides proof to our Platform Partners that we have your exclusive permission to present your Title for distribution consideration and (II) provides MMD the needed exclusive time to possibly secure distribution opportunities.

TIMELINE

​

MMD requires an exclusive six (6) month period to pitch distribution opportunities with an option for three (3) additional months if requested for your Title(s). If we cannot find distribution opportunities at the end of the exclusion period, the CA is voided.

Average Industry pitch cycle for a Title

​

• Platform Review and Notification:  90-120 days

• Artwork: 45-60 days

• Deal Structure: 30-60 days

This is why MMD asks for 6-9 months to secure distribution opportunities.

Step 4. DELIVERABLES. We strongly suggest when you sign the CA, you immediately start working on the following Deliverables.

I. Trailer: Between 1:40 and 1:50 seconds.  

II. Close Caption (CC) Files

III. Photo Stills (15-20 High Res production photos)

IV.  M&E Files

​

We will provide you with a complete list of required Deliverables required for distribution.  The majority of platforms releasing content today may express interest in your Title(s), but they WILL NOT make offers until they receive the above minimum Deliverables.  When a platform (or Platforms) contacts us regarding offers, You MUST complete the Platforms Deliverables list we will provide you before a deal can be finalized.

POST-PRODUCTION & DELIVERY SERVICES

MMD offers a wide range of post-production/Deliverable services. We can provide you quotes for post-production and Delivery work if needed.

SUBMISSION PLATFORMS

MMD will exhaust SVOD opportunities, before seeking any other distribution options. MMD also submits to AVOD, TVOD, Cable, Network, and DVD opportunities. Theatrical releases are considered, but the content must meet strict distribution quality and Deliverable guidelines.

ERRORS & OMISSIONS (E & O) INSURANCE

Distribution platforms require Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance.

If we do not find a buyer for your content, 100% ownership of your content reverts back to you.
